A member asked:

I had a staple stab my finger. it went very deep in my middle finger. i put peroxide and washed it very vigorously. am i at risk of tetanus?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Safe, if vaccinated: Those pointy office staples can stab anyone from time to time. They are not likely to cause tetanus, if they have never left a clean, indoor office setting. If one is fully vaccinated against tetanus (received the childhood series and has gotten a booster every 10 years), he is not at risk for getting tetanus from a simple staple stab.
