Chemo failure common: Chemo or chemical treatment routinely fails due to presence of malignant stem cells having DNA repairative mechanisms. Use of immune therapy or chemo-immune more effective. One can use Erbitux with xeloda or avastin (bevacizumab). Newer approach starting FDA phase III is mAb targeting oncofetal protein, mutated MUC5ac which markedly improves survival as naked mAb.

Colon cancer: If the cancer has returned, it was resistant to the chemotherapy. The oncologist, who knows all the findings in the case, is best qualified to answer your questions and concerns.
