Physical exam first: An exam by your doctor is the first place to start. S/he may order an Xray if there is concern for a fracture. If the Xray is clear you may have a problem with your cartilage that only an MRI can see. Don't ignore this, because gymnastics shouldn't be painful. Your problem will get worse without a proper evaluation and a plan to correct it. Good luck!
