There are: numerous causes of thickened bowel loops. Inflammatory, infectious, vascular, neoplastic, metabolic, and autoimmune processes are among the various etiologies. The CT finding has to be correlated with your clinical findings to narrow it down. Ultimately, colonoscopy with possible biopsy may be needed for a definitive answer.
