General definitions: Left ventricular systolic function is a measure of how well the lower left pumping section of the heart squeezes to send blood to the body.Ejection fraction (EF) is the % of blood that is pumped out with each heartbeat.A normal EF at rest usually ranges between 55& 70%. If the heart muscle has been damaged the ejection fraction may be lower. You should discuss results further with your doctor.
