A member asked:

I had an echocardiogram today and just received my results back. i am very concerned and wondering how worried i should be. findings include: low normal left ventricular ejection fraction (est. 50%), and aortic valve trileaflet with mild thickening?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

"thickened aortic leaflets" can lead to aortic stenosis, which will cause decrease in left ventricular function and the ejection faction will be lower than "50%". Get a referral to a cardiovascular surgeon for an evaluation prior to potential onset of cardiac failure.
