A member asked:

If your normal platelet count is at the high end of normal, could eating many veggies rich in vitamin k cause platelets to raise to 450,000 -500,000?

No: Platelet count may increase due to iron deficiency, otherwise diet has little effect on platelet count. It would be prudent to discuss it with your doctor.

Veggies raising plat: Very unlikely that your platelets are increased due to eating vegetables. Platelets are also acute phase reactants.. Meaning they may be transient high due to a minor infection or inflammation. Repeat platelet count after 3-4 weeks. If high may need further workup for thrombocytosis.
