Likely Discontinue: Check with your prescribing provider. It seems as though you're having an adverse reaction to this medication. But, drowsiness is an unusual side effect of buspirone (buspar). Consider what effect the Xanax (alprazolam) and herbal supplements you are taking may be having. Xanax (alprazolam) is a potent medication that can cause excessive drowsiness rather than relieving anxiety. Buspar is not great at reducing anxiety.
