Recurrent C. diff: recurrences of Clostridium difficile are unfortunately very common. It is important to take the entire course of vancomycin or whichever medication your gastroenterologist put you on. It is also important to avoid other antibiotics if it all possible, while you're on the Vancomycin and even down the road, since recurrences occur easily. Good luck.

Cl diff: Are you on any medications for your lupus ? What the trigger for your first episode of cl diff? Was that related to a course of abx? Have you been tested with flagyl also ? Most cl diff will respond to vancomycin but there are other options. Request a consult with an Infectoius disease doc. In some cases a new agent that may be more effective than either of the abx may be needed.
