Itching?: Itching can happen with or without dengue, so itching does not confirm nor deny dengue. Dengue testing is of 2 types: antibody testing or PCR testing. Antibody testing looks for one's immune system's response to the virus (one's body makes antibodies against the virus). PCR testing looks for actual pieces of virus material, such as the RNA genetic material in the virus.
