Allergist: Evaluation prior to the procedure, those reactions are uncommon those days because of the new radiocontrast media they use, anyways, it isn't a true allergic reaction, rather a side effect, and there are protocols to avoid such side effect involving taking medicines at certain hours before the cath or any radiography with contrast, check aaaai.org or acaai.org for an allergist in your area
