A member asked:

Finally got the courage to give lexapro (escitalopram) a try. just read a possible side effect is seizure?? what if i'm driving with my kids? too scared to take now

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Rare side effects: Seizures are a rare side effect of Lexapro (escitalopram). Lexapro (escitalopram) is a widely used, effective med for anxiety and depression. You may be more at risk driving while highly anxious than on low dose Lexapro (escitalopram) or similar SSRI. That said, you must be comfortable with meds that are elective. Working with a therapist on strategies to lower anxiety meantime may be helpful. Be safe and take care.
