My son has (what I thought was) a bug bite on the bottom of his foot, he mentioned it first thing this morning and throughout the day the swelling has increased and he has been in a lot of pain on and off. Also, the swelling is now becoming hard?

A bug bit my almost 3y/o son a foot. It was a weal & now it's swollen & watery. Dr said it's fine but the ankle is worsening. Gave him 5ml Benadryl (diphenhydramine) ?
I got hit in neck with ball. Can it cause a swollen lymph node that last a mint and a half? Cancer? No crazy symptoms. Just a little paranoid. Help!
