One irregular period: It is likely this month your ovaries did not ovulate and make progesterone, this then changes the period bleeding. As we get older this will happen more, although menopause is not until no period bleeding for one year. Many things can trigger a change in the cycle, such as travel, stress, weight, medications, but also it can just happen one month, and then the next month you are regular again.
