Consciousness is not: something with an on off switch. It has various levels like the dawning of a day or a sunset and everything in between. Philosophers and theologians theorize about its spiritual / biological roots. Some think the brain is like a radio receiver and consciousness itself is received by the brain from somewhere else like the Collective Unconscious Carl Jung, Swiss Analyst, speaks about. Peace.
