I think you mean...: keratitis. This is an inflammation of the cornea, the clear membrane that covers the pupil. Improperly treated keratitis can lead to vision loss due to damage of the cornea. Any new symptoms ( i can't answer your question "why?") require further evaluation, Whether or not their related to the keratitis. Please get back with your eye doctor ASAP. Thanks! Dr. Anne
