6-8 weeks: Many of the beta-blocker medications (propranolol) come in long-acting formulations. Compared with propranolol, low-dose Topamax (topiramate) has better results. It will take several weeks to see enough changes in your symptoms to decide if Topamax (topiramate) is the right medication for you.
