Trichilemmal cyst: Or epidermoid cyst. These are common and not cancers. They contain sebum (skin oil) which can have a strong odor when it ages. If the cyst has an opening to the surface you can squeeze it like a giant zit. Sometimes they become acutely inflamed with pain, pus, blood. Then a DR will drain or remove the cyst.
