Oral ivermectin?: There's no obvious reason the treatment (probably permethrin or lindane) cannot be used on the scalp, but it should be kept out of the eyes and mouth. Alternatively, if necessary, scabies can be treated with ivermectin, an oral treatment effective in a single dose. Discuss both options with your doctor.
