A member asked:

I've been coughing all night (due to asthma) causing a pain/throbbing ache in my chest. will pain killers help? or is it brused?

See doctor: If the asthma is causing the cough, you need immediate medical attention. Although opiate-containing pain-killer may dull the pain and suppress the cough, it is more logical to get better control of your asthma and reduce the coughing. See your doctor or go to the ER to rule out the presence of pneumothorax (rupture of air sacs) as well since your type of chest pain is unusual .
