It can hurt: Because when putting in a stent a balloon is temporarily inflated in your artery that briefly cuts off blood flow, people can experience pain or angina during the procedure. Doesn't always occur, but not worrisome. Also, for several days after the procedure people often get twinges of chest pain likely due to focusing on symptoms, as well as transient dysfunction of the artery lining.
