If there: Is already information that the stage is four, then the pet won't add much. You have enough information to start a treatment plan.

Yes : There are multiple ways to evaluate for metastatic cancer, but pet scans are often the easiest and one of the best. Often an initial refusal for insurance to cover is because of a clerical or administrative mistake ( an incorrect diagnostic code on the teat request) and a call from the physicians office to the insurance company can correct it.
