Comments: Your question is valid, but the only easily available genetic test currently is Apolipoprotein Epsilon alleles. From your description, your dad may have Dementia due to Lewy bodies, a Parkinsonian dementia prototype. Genetic testing is expensive, but if your Dad finds a medical school research study, it may include genetic testing.
