Cherry hemangiomas: Cherry hemangiomas are not caused by aging: they increase in the older population as the skin gets thinner, loses elasticity, & architecture. The capillaries, small blood vessels, begin to form dome like lesions that are red or purple. They can bleed and are treated with laser or electrocautery.
