Is echocardiogram more reliable than ct to diagnose cardiomegaly? chest ct showed mild cardiomegaly but echocardiogram was oaky.

CT vs Echo: Both techniques are excellent. The Echo is a bit more cardiac specific but ask your Doc or cardiologist for more information pertinent to you.

Echocardiogram: may give a better idea of how big your heart really is. That is because a CT is performed on your back, most of the time. That does tend to make the heart look larger. The echocardiogram is done on your back but also on the side . So my feeling is if the echocardiogram says you are normal then you are.
