A member asked:

I had two negative trichomonas cultures , is it possible to still have trichomonas ?

Unlikely: Most tests are generally not wrong twice in a row. If you are still having symptoms, the cause could be something else, like a yeast infection or another type of infection. Talk to the doctor that did your tests and see what they suggest.

Unlikely: New Aptima technology has made diagnosing Trichomonas without a microscope more accurate. It is unlikely that you had two falsely negative tests, provided it was collected properly and appropriate test vial was used. There are other conditions that can mimic trich symptoms - please follow up with your clinician or relevant specialist.
