Doctor can evaluate: Any 54 year-old with a new mass or new lump can get checked to see if it is something minor, such as a skin cyst, or some infection like an infected skin cyst, or something bad, such as a cancer. If the person has been taking good medical care of herself, her regular doctor can check things out. If the person has been lacking medical care for years, many things may be going on in a 54 year-old.
