IBS: Teenagers w. "sharp abdominal pain" & unilateral "hip pain" seeks etiology/medical treatment. If symptoms are more than transitory, a unifying dynamic might be pelvic soft tissue/ligament disorder. My experience: young persons w. injured & hypermobile sacroiliac joints often have IBS symptoms; from dysautonomia whereby parasympathetic nerves are impinged in region of proximate ventral SIJ sulcus.

In 2013, I presented, at the Eighth Interdisciplinary Congress on Low Back & Pelvic Pain in Dubai, a study of IBS-D in 20 male extreme sports enthusiasts who suffered low back/pelvis injury & chronic low back pain. The distinguishing clinical finding was sacroiliac joint subluxation; diagnosed via the Occupational Disabilities Guidelines, ODG; recounted on my Pain Syndrome board at Quora.com.
