I believe so: The spironolactone you are taking helps prevent potassium losses in the kidney, helping to keep your potassium blood level up. Avoiding alcohol and eating a low carbohydrate diet may help. If you "cheat", the typical symptoms of HPP may occur: shoulder/arm, hip/leg weakness or paralysis. One might experience aching with this. While challenging, complying with all aspects of treatment is important
