More than a feeling.: Pain in the ankle and bottom of the foot can describe the symptoms of many possible foot conditions. Gout would be included, but based on your symptoms, it would be one of the least possibilities. You need to offer more subjective symptoms like swelling, color, temperature, intensity and duration, just to name a few. X-rays are always helpful to evaluate boney of joint abnormalities.
