Benadryl (diphenhydramine) with Allegr: You can take Benadryl (diphenhydramine) though it will increase the dryness of the mouth . If Allegra is not working for you you can ask your MD if you can take Zyrtec or perhaps use a nasal antihistamine with or without a nasal steroid. Finding what is best for each patient is trial and error. Work with your MD. Zyrtec is over the counter. Fixing the drippy nose usually causes eye irritation to resolve as well.
