It depends: if your blood pressure is high say systolic of 160 you would not know that if you start at 150 mmHg . So it is best to start well above the systolic number you think you will get . We recommend starting at 200 mmHg.

Likely yes: that is high. yes re-check it. your blood pressure varies throughout the day. if it is consistently high after you check it 2-3 times a day for several days you need to see your doctor

You already do have: a high reading. The upper number is normally about 130 for someone your age. 150 is high and 185 is VERY high. You should get it checked this week in a clinic, sooner if you are having any symptoms. Good luck.

BP: No. The important thing is to inflate the cuff above the systolic blood pressure so that when you do just the cuff it comes down to show systolic first and then diastolic

Possibly: Only if your systolic blood pressure is higher than 150. 180 is a reasonable level to inflate the cuff to.
