Neck pain: There are several possibilities including Thyroiditis or lymph node enlargement due to strep or other infection. you need oral exam and possibility CT of neck. If difficulty swallowing present it could be associated with reflux.

Muscle/ lymph node: What you describe is likely an aggravated lymph node from allergy or infection in the head and neck area. A sore muscle would be the next likely cause. Reflux is unlikely. If you think allergic, take an allergy pill; if infection look for the source. If the soreness persists or worsens see your MD for evaluation. Warm compresses to the area might help.
