Hypothyroidism: is one of the leading medical causes of a depressed mood. You have obviously checked with your MD and on meds to boost thyroid function, so now you wait. Your MD will adjust the dose upwards or change the Rx if you do not respond within a reasonable time, but the MD and you will decide how long to wait., because it varies.
