It depends: Occasionally there is irreversible damage to organs as a result of chronic alcohol use. We generally consider the brain to be pretty well back to baseline after 6 months or so and after being abstinent for 12 months one is formally into remission. If not scarred the liver will get back to normal I suspect within a month or so. Talk to a physician about the details of your exam and hx.
