I just noticed recently that the veins running up my stomach and sides have become a much darker blue and more visible as well as having some abdominal pain and was wondering if it's anything i should be concerned with.

Exam advised: Abdominal veins are not usually very prominent unless there is abdominal distension from fluid accumulation or intestinal dilation. Since you're also experiencing abdominal discomfort,I recommend that you see your physician for evaluation and any appropriate tests.

Could be: Sometimes this is related to problems with restriction of blood flow through the liver although you seem quite young for this problem. Could you be pregnant? If your abdominal pain is persistent or progressive you should see someone.
