Natural spotting: Light mid-cycle spotting of your menstrual cycle can be a normal occurrence. When you ovulate in mid-cycle you have peaks of estrogen hormones followed by lower and changed levels of your reproductive hormones. Progesterone is released at higher levels following ovulation. Sometimes mid-cycle spotting comes from these natural hormonal changes.

Spotting + ovulation: A light brow tinged discharge is frequently associated with implantation when noted 6-7 days post ovulation. Unlikely due to stress. Check a home pregnancy test if your late on your menses, and trying to conceive.
