I had a normal five day period from aug 29th to sept 1st. it is now 8 days past my cycle i have a brown discharge i'm supposed to be ovulating now?

Brownish discharge: If you are around cycle day 13 (5 + 8) it is reasonable to assume ovulation. If you don't wish to become pregnant i suggest using contraception at this time in your cycle.
