Ovulation: In a 28 day cycle ovulation is usually about day 14 ( 1st day of period is day 1). It occurs 12-14 days before the onset of the next period. May be associated with increased, sticky mucus discharge and discomfort in either lower quadrant of the pelvis. May note a bloody discharge (mittelschmertz) associated with transient drop in estrogen level with ovulation.
