A member asked:

What is the prognosis of raeb1. dad has 1% blast in peripheral blood, hb 7.5 while others like wbc and plts are normal. he has dysplasia in three line?

Guarded!: RAEB has variable prognosis. Your Dad needs to consult a specialist who is an expert in mDS. This specialist may place him on treatment depending on his Bone marrow cytogenetics test results. One drug that may help him(because his main problem is Anemia) is Revlimid (lenalidomide). Investigate this possibility and also may be useful to go to a major Cancer Center for advice as to how his MDS should be treated.
