Transitional phase: I'm going to assume that you are talking about yourself at age 52. These are probably the end of your periods. This means there is already going to be some irregularity, regarding frequency, duration, and intensity of periods. I believe you had a normal period, had sex, and then had a menopausal abnormal bleed. There is the possibility of thinning, irritated vaginal mucosa being torn from sex, too.
