Likely when Ab : Is finished. But sometimes can persist and stool needs to be tested. Give him probiotics and yogurt to maintain his normal bowel flora. Talk to your doctor to see if the antibiotics are necessary or could be adjusted. Sorry for his pain. Tylenol (acetaminophen) might help. All the best.

Why amoxil (amoxicillin): it may be related to amoxil (amoxicillin) killing off good bacteria in his colon and overgrowth of dysbiotic bacteria. Speak to the prescribing physician about what to do.
