No.: Very unlikely that at age 17 this would be any type of cancer. You may have severe premenstrual disorder, or possible an ovarian cyst causing the one-sided pain. Please see a doctor to discern the causes of your pain, they can be treated so you aren't suffering. You will also feel much relief to know that there is nothing scary going on.

Likely not: People have different intensity in their menstrual cramping . Get checked for fibroids, endometriosis etc which are uncommon at your age. Your gyn may consider doing a pelvic ultrasound to check the integrity of your pelvic organs .Ovarian cancer will present with your symptoms but are persistent, and worsening. Hope u feel better!
