Hi doc...my boyfriend has a chronic cough...he does smoke daily but is taking methylprefnisolone. ..he missed hia morning dose..can he take morning and lunch dose together...how long before he notices a change..is is coughing a little less. this is day 3

Can skip dose: If coughing is related to smoking secondary to a chronic form of trachea bronchitis while prednisone may relieve some symptoms, long term steroid use is not in his best interest and missing one or more doses for relief of symptoms is insigmificant. It is better to stop smoking if one is to control the problems related to it.
