May be neuropathic: Impingment syndrome involves some of the muscular stabilizers of the shoulder known as the rotator cuff. Some patients that have rotator cuff problems can have associated neuropathic pain as well, thought potentially to be associated with glenohumeral instability. Physical therapy can sometimes be helpful.
