A member asked:

How high is your chance of getting cancer compared to someone who never had 2 ct scans or a few x rays? is radiation used freq in hospitals to blame?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Misleading claim: The radiation you get from a CT scan is maybe 3 mSV, which is the same as the extra radiation an airline pilot gets in a year from flying. Nobody's shown an increase in cancer in pilots. Radiation from chest x-rays is far less. Frankly, you need to stop reading doctor-bashing sites by crooks posing as "humanitarians" -- life's hard enough without fearing the imaging studies you need.
