A member asked:

I just had my first drink and now my throat is numb, is this normal?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Throat numbness: It is not uncommon for the alcohol to have some local anesthesia. What you are probably experiencing is the burning from the contact of the liquor with the mucosa. Not as noted with just beer and wine. You Should be of age to be drinking. B safe and do not over do it or binge drink. Good luck and feel better
