Ears and sinuses: The crackling and popping sound is likely to come from blocked Eustachian tubes. Their job is to equalize pressure between the middle ear and the outside world. However, inflammation can cause them to swell shut. Chronic nasal and sinus congestion are probably coming from either chronic sinusitis or allergies. Might try an antihistamine or decongestant, but consider seeing your doctor to see if andecongestant, but consider seeing your doctor to see if antibiotic therapy appropriate
