How long, other meds: Are you taking any over the counter meds like aspirin, ibuprofen? If so, stop those unless you have a good reason to be on them. If you've had reflux for>10 years you probably should have an endoscopy. If you mean reflux rather than gastritis, you should avoid caffeine, chocolate, alcohol, acidic foods, and spicy foods (sorry, a lot of the good stuff!).
