No,but maybe: HSV 2 can cause open lesions or shedding from the cervix and /or upper vagina when no vulvar lesions are present. This infection may be asymptomatic (as far as pain)but can be associated with a malodorous discharge easily confused with BV. Any persistent discharge can disrupt the vaginal flora and ph balance of the vagina leading to an overgrowth of bacteria which we call BV.
